Why we built it

The hard part of a research paper isn't typing. It's finding good sources and knowing they're real.

AI chatbots made that harder. They sound sure of themselves, and they can invent sources that never existed. We wanted a simple way to check.

What Sourcefox does today

Sourcefox has four free tools and a set of research guides. The tools search Crossref, a public database of scholarly records, so every result is a real record that you can open and read.

What's coming

We're building the Sourcefox AI app. It will help you go from topic to finished paper, with sources you can check. It isn't open yet.

Is Sourcefox legit?

Yes. Sourcefox is run by Kaan AI Engineering, a software business based in Germany. Our address and contact details are on the legal notice page.

The tools don't ask for your card, your email, or an account.

Using Sourcefox the right way

Read everything you cite. Follow your school's rules on AI tools. If you aren't sure what's allowed, ask your professor.
